What are UL 2218 Class 4 Impact-Resistant shingles?
Timberline® AS II Shingles are made with our proprietary SBS-modified asphalt formulation and pass UL’s toughest impact-resistance test — UL 2218 Class 4¹. That means they can really take a punch from Mother Nature.
¹Timberline® AS II Shingles are not warranted to withstand hail damage.
UL 2218 Class 4 Impact-Resistance Test
A 2” steel ball is dropped twice from a 20-foot height onto various target locations
to evaluate the shingles’ ability to withstand the impact.
