I Can’t Believe I Am Writing My 50th Blog
Today, I am writing my 50th blog and I cannot believe it. Never before in my entire life have I been this consistent and productive about anything . And it is all because of my one concrete and conscious decision to do something that I feel I should be doing.
Indeed, you experience a great deal of contentment when you consistently do the things you know you should be doing on a daily basis. This is how you feed your soul and stay sane. Simply by doing things you know you should do, you start growing in ways you have never imagined before. Try it out for yourself, you will be surprised by the result you experience.
It feels sad to realize that we spend hell of a lot time doing things we don’t feel like we should be doing. It feels sad to realize that we waste a lot of time doing things just because we think we are supposed to do it. Of course, there are times and places to carry out our responsibilities. Of course, there are times to make sacrifice. But at the same time, we should not forget ourselves and our needs in the name of being responsible for others.
As they say, put on your oxygen mask first before you start helping those around you. It is not being selfish, it is being sensible.
Most of us live our life for others. We design our life based on what others think is good or acceptable or worthwhile. We do things for others not because we see the need to do so but simply because we want to impress others and we want others to accept and love us. Our entire sense of self is derived from other people’s opinion about us. We think we are what they think we are. So, we want to make sure that they think good about us.
Unfortunately, when we are motivated by these self-deceiving thoughts, we start narrowing down our possibilities in our life and we start building walls of restriction around ourselves about almost everything. For instance — you want to do something, but you are afraid that he/she won’t like it and then even before you start doing it, you give up. That is how you kill your dreams. Because you are afraid what they will think about it. You are afraid of other’s judgement.
Indeed, when your entire sense of self is based on what others think about you, you are bound to fail in anything you do. You are bound to be over critical towards yourself.
So, the question is — how do we become free from the fear of other’s judgement? How do we stop living for someone else and start living for ourselves? How do we know whether we are being selfish or sensible? How do we learn the subtle art of not giving a fuck about what other think and start doing your thing? How do we become more open and vulnerable and courageous at the same time? How do we stop thinking about all the petty stuffs that don’t help us in any way? How do we start deriving our sense of self from within? How do we build that foundation?
My simple and yet profound answer would be — BY KNOWING WHO YOU TRULY ARE AT THE CORE OF YOUR BEING will give answer to all the aforementioned questions. And for that, you need to start looking within. You should start your own kind of spiritual journey. You will have to open yourself up to a whole new world. I am telling you all these things because I also went through a period of six year of spiritual journey. I spent a great deal of time seeking who I truly am at the core of my being. I went through a journey of self awakening and self realization. And now I am in the journey of self-development and self-improvement.
Be courageous and start your own spiritual journey to find out who you truly are at core of your being. When you find your true self, when you know who you are in your heart, you will then free from all the fears and judgements and opinions of other people who don’t even know who they are.
For now, just learn to say FUCK YOU to the world once in a while and start DOING YOUR THING.
Do the things you think you should be doing on a daily basis. It doesn’t need to be grand. You can start small. Take small baby steps. You will be surprised by the results you will get after certain period of time. You will grow and evolve exponentially. Imagine if hadn’t started writing blog in the first place, I wouldn’t be writing about the joy of writing my 50th blog. There will come a moment soon when I will be writing my 100th blog and it will keep going. If you do something, you have a reason to hope and expect something to happen in return. If you don’t do anything, nothing is going to happen.
