I Am Ashamed Of My Wife

I have a strange issue that will make me sound like a jerk, but obviously I am trying to figure it out by writing in, so maybe not a complete jerk. I am ashamed of my wife when we interact with others socially. She is a nice person, but very closedminded. She grew up poor and has less education than me and most people we interact with in our social circle. She is a Trump supporter like her family is, and this is unusual where we live. She also makes jokes that just honestly are not funny, and I see others glance at each other when she talks.
