End the Day Exhausted
You should go to bed exhausted. At the end of every day you should be loopy with tiredness or at least close. You need days to recover of course. Maybe sleep in on your off day of work or exercise or whatever you do. But it’s a satisfying feeling. It’s a real strong indicator your pushing yourself, assuming your health is in good condition. It’s a really good sort of guide to follow because the motto “everything all day today” is pretty vague. It’s intentionally vague. I’m trying to cover any hobbie, passion, job, sport, task. As long as your productivity is improving. That’s the idea. Put everything into whatever you’re doing. Ie. all of your effort. Put all of your effort in all day. And start today. So ya, exhaust yourself throughout the day from putting all your effort into whatever the task is. Again assuming you’re healthy, you should have zero issue falling asleep at night if you’re busting your ass all day. Ideally your busting your ass doing something worth your time. But that goes without saying and that’s a topic for another day. And then this ties into some other topics as well because you could say “why?” Like why put all of my effort into what I’m doing, why should I exhaust myself. You’d have to figure that out for yourself. And we talked about this in the “what drives you” discussion topic. You need to assess your intrinsic and extrinsic motivation. Other people wanna do what you do. Hypothetically, if you had the goal of earning a position in your workplace. You’d have to put more effort in compared to other guy who wants that same position. Or maybe you don’t have to, but you should. It’s so obvious that it’s overlooked. Nobody ever talks about this kind of stuff, but everybody needs to hear it. It helps me just typing it out. On top of that hypothetical, I just think you’re better off putting more effort into anything you do. If you’re tired out from work and your kid wants to play with you, go ahead and say “no not today I’m too tired”. Your ass probably has like 3 more hours of daylight left. Play with your kid or convince him to relax with you. I’m just saying you should put the effort in. Go all out at work, playing with you kid, loving your significant other. Be that person. People respect that person. People appreciate that person. And hopefully people learn from that person. When the days done, reward yourself with quality sleep. Conclude the day as a champion and start all over tomorrow. Join the project and EAT.
