Before You Go

By Rebecca Licorish — In remembrance of her mother, Carol Ann Licorish, (6/25/1950–11/26/2022)

Before you go
I have to ask
about your future,
about your past.
About the dreams
you held inside.
The smiles you gave,
the tears you cried.
Before you go,
I’d like to hear
your truth without
restraint or fear.
To hold me up
when I feel low…
Just one more question,
before you go.
