NaNoWriMo is definitely something I recommend! One of the things I love is that even though the goal is 50k words, you can go at your own pace. And the perks are great, too!
I loved this! My friends consistently checked on me and cheered me on last year. And they were also the ones to pull me away from writing and the computer for breaks. Two of them are reading are my first draft now as alpha readers and one of them has a journalism background and offered to help edit!
When it comes to projects like this, even someone offering help is comforting. This is a great guide for folks who many not know how to support their NaNo buddies!
